WINNIE

Female - Approx 10 years

Adoption Fee: Special Adoption Fee for cats over 1 year old $80

Meet Winnie

Winnie was being lovingly fed by a lovely family in Kawakawa who had been looking out for her. When they were preparing to move, they reached out to us rather than leaving this sweet girl behind to fend for herself.

We were absolutely elated when we heard the beep of a microchip! Surely we had found Winnie’s family… or so we thought.

When we checked the register, her registered guardian was living in a rural town around 17km away. A phone call revealed that Winnie had actually been rehomed to them close to 10 years ago, but unfortunately her microchip details had never been updated.

We put the word out on Facebook and even did a letterbox drop in the area, hoping someone might recognise her and be able to tell us where she belonged. Sadly, no owner has come forward.

And so, once again, another displaced adult cat has found her way into rescue.

But Winnie isn’t letting her circumstances get her down. She is an absolute sweetheart — super affectionate, gentle and relaxed, and very happy to be around people. At her age, she has no interest in running around causing chaos all day. Her ideal day involves finding a comfy bed, stretching out somewhere warm and cosy and preferably having a human lap available when she feels like a cuddle.

Winnie would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a calm, loving adult cat. She has so much love to give and deserves a home where she can finally feel safe, settled and hers.

After everything she has been through, we think this gorgeous girl is more than ready for her happily ever after.
