MEET MISHKA – LOOKING FOR A PATIENT, GENTLE HOME

Meet Mishka, a beautiful tabby girl of around 18 months old who is looking for a special home with someone who understands that the best relationships sometimes take a little time.

Mishka came into our care with her sister, and the two girls really were complete opposites. Her sister was super friendly and outgoing and found her forever home fairly quickly. Mishka, on the other hand, was a nervous wee thing who wasn’t quite so sure that humans could be trusted.

It has taken plenty of love, patience and time to get Mishka to where she is today, and she has come such a long way. Underneath that shy exterior is the sweetest, softest little girl. She can still be unsure around new people and will need time to get to know you, but once she realises she is safe, her lovely gentle nature starts to shine through.

Mishka isn’t a cat for a busy or noisy household, and we don’t think a home with young children would suit her. She needs people who will let her settle at her own pace without putting pressure on her to interact before she is ready.

She gets along well with friendly cats and kittens, and having a calm feline friend could be a lovely source of confidence and companionship for her. A dog, however, would probably be a little too much for this sensitive girl.

Mishka has spent most of her life indoors, so we would love to find her an indoor-only home, ideally with a secure catio or fully enclosed deck where she can safely enjoy some fresh air and sunshine.

Mishka may not be the girl who throws herself into your arms the first time you meet her. She’s the one whose trust you earn slowly — and that makes it all the more special when she chooses you.

The love and time invested in this gorgeous girl will be rewarded with a sweet, gentle and very special companion.

ADOPTION INFORMATION

All Coast to Coast cats and kittens are desexed, have received their first vaccination, are microchipped and are up to date with flea and worm treatments.

All cats under 5 years of age also come with 30–42 days of free pet insurance.

We are based in the Bay of Islands, Northland. Please ensure you are able to travel or meet transport requirements when applying. Transport is generally limited to Northland and Auckland.

This adoption fee goes towards the cat's costs of:

• Worm and Flea treatments
• De-sexing
• Vet Book
• Vaccinations – based on age of cat or kitten. A booster vaccination may be required.
• Microchipping and Registration

Trial and refunds

Your cat or kitten will be on trial for 14 days. If for any reason the adoption does not work out by the final day, we will refund your adoption fee back to you. Coast to Coast Cat Rescue has made every effort to ensure that all cats and kittens are in good health however, undetectable illnesses may be incubating at the time of adoption. Coast to Coast Cat Rescue holds no responsibility or financial liability for any future illnesses or injuries that may present in the cat or kitten once adopted.

Important information

We understand life changes so if for some reason at any point in the future you can no longer keep your cat, we require that you contact Coast to Coast Cat Rescue and we will take the cat back into our care for rehoming. We have strict policies when it comes to re-homing our cats to ensure the fit is right for you and the animal. We reserve the right to decline any adoption of any cat or kitten to any person or persons if we believe the home would not be suitable.
