We’re heading back to Auckland for another Coast to Coast Cat Rescue Adoption Day!

If you’re thinking about adding a new cat or kitten to your family, you can apply now to get pre-approved before the day.

Getting pre-approved means we can complete all our usual checks beforehand, including looking at your address and surrounding area, your household, other pets and what you’re looking for in a new family member.

Once approved, you can come along on the day, meet the cats and kittens we have with us and, if you find your perfect match, adopt and take them home that day. Please ensure you bring a secure plastic cat carrier with you to safely transport your new pet home.

Hoping for a kitten?

As we’re at the quieter end of kitten season, we have very limited numbers of kittens available at the moment. We may have some little ones joining us on the day, but numbers will be limited and we can’t guarantee kitten availability.

We will, however, have some absolutely gorgeous older cats who would love the chance to meet you and right now, all of our cats aged one year and over have a special adoption fee of just $80.

Our older cats have so much to offer. Their personalities are already shining through, and if you’re looking for a companion without quite as much of the kitten chaos, you might just meet someone you weren’t expecting to fall in love with.

Before you apply

As part of the pre-approval process, proof of your current address is required.

If you are renting, we will also need confirmation from your landlord or property manager that you have permission to have a cat at the property.

Pre-approval doesn’t guarantee a particular cat or kitten and there’s no obligation to adopt — it simply means all the application checks have been completed before the day.

This adoption fee goes towards the cat's costs of:

• Worm and Flea treatments
• De-sexing
• Vet Book
• Vaccinations – based on age of cat or kitten. A booster vaccination may be required.
• Microchipping and Registration

Trial and refunds

Your cat or kitten will be on trial for 14 days. If for any reason the adoption does not work out by the final day, we will refund your adoption fee back to you. Coast to Coast Cat Rescue has made every effort to ensure that all cats and kittens are in good health however, undetectable illnesses may be incubating at the time of adoption. Coast to Coast Cat Rescue holds no responsibility or financial liability for any future illnesses or injuries that may present in the cat or kitten once adopted.

Important information

We understand life changes so if for some reason at any point in the future you can no longer keep your cat, we require that you contact Coast to Coast Cat Rescue and we will take the cat back into our care for rehoming. We have strict policies when it comes to re-homing our cats to ensure the fit is right for you and the animal. We reserve the right to decline any adoption of any cat or kitten to any person or persons if we believe the home would not be suitable.
